The Darcha – Padum – Lamayuru trek that goes through the magnificent Zanskar valley is one of Himalaya finest trekking expeditions offering solitude and tranquility. These barren of mountains of Leh valley’s will test you for your stamina and courage as we go through some high mountains passes such as ‘Niutse La at 5100 meters’ very far from any road-head. All along the trail one can observe the Buddhist influence in monasteries and peaks. Darcha Padum Lamyuru Trek - Description and Statistic
The highlight of the trek is Zanskar valley crossing. There are natural landscape all through the trek, dotted with remote Buddhist villages and monasteries.
The trek requires good fitness levels as its a long trek. Right weather conditions are required.
Peak Route: Palmo (3600 m) - Zangskar Sumdo (3900 m) - Chuminakpo Camp (4600 m) - Gumburanjon Camp (4300 m) - Tangzen (4000 m) - Purne (3850 m) - Raru (3800 m) - Shila (3500 m) - Padum - Karsha (3750 m) - Rinam (3500 m) - Hanamur (35000 m) - Snertse (3800 m) - Anuma La (4700 m) - Lingshed (3950 m) - Sengge La base (4400 m) - Photaksar (4000 m) - Hanupatta (4500 m) - "Niutse La" (5100 m) - Sumdo (4000 m) - Shila - Lamayuru
