Kuari Pass Trek also known as the Lord Curzon trail is one of the finest Easy-to-Medium treks of Indian Himalayas. Pursuing this shorter north-face section of Kuari Pass gives us about 25-30 kms hiking trails. It reaches to an altitude of over 3820 meters above MSL at the Kuari top. This trek is rated as the Top-5 easy-to-medium (non strenuous) treks of India. There are many reasons to that. The trail allowse you a glimpse of remote Himalayan villages, you can witness the eeriness of dense alpine forests, and get views of highest Himalayan peaks - no less than a panoramic 360° view of snow-clad Himalayas from Kuari Pass top. A glance at Nanda Devi peak is a moment to savor for lifetime.
Profile of Kuari Pass On the first day, Kuari Pass trek goes through Tugasi and Guling villages. Soon we enter the dense Oakwood and Rhododendron forest passing as we start gaining more altitude. You'll witness the remote Himalayan culture that is so opposite to a city life - a truly slow paced, carefree life. We may come across Shepherds, wild animals, and streams throughout the trek. The walk goes uphill the mountains zigzagging through trans-Himalayas. As we enter the 3rd day of trek, we leave the tree-line and begin to a view snow-clad peaks that are some of the highest in world. The scenes at Kuari pass top are mesmerizing with mighty Himalayas sneaking out all over within our clear visibility. Later in the trek, we descend down to reach the roadhead at either Auli or Tugasi village.
Gorson Bugyal (Meadow) The highlight of Kuari Pass trek is the Gorson mountain ridge - a very narrow trail with steep fall on one side and mountain wall on the other. Hiking through the Gorson Bugyal to reach Auli is a hearth-thumping experience and one of the striking features of Kuari Pass. But the views are worth making all this effort.
Nanda Devi Peak View of India's 2nd highest peak from Gorson is spectacular to say the least. This full view of the peak is best seen from areas near Auli.
Art & Culture Remote villages with beautiful and hospitable people. These include Tugasi, Karchi, Guling, and such villages that still restores the age-old practices to demonstrate the art & culture of Himalayas.
Hot Water Spring at Tapovan The hot water spring at Tapovan is a good attraction if you love geology. This natural hot spring is believed to posses medicinal properties if you take a dip.

We did a 4 day trekking with them and ended being very fond of the entire crew. These crew makes a huge amount of work, worths every cent you pay, and much more. You can tell they love nature and they transmit it. They really make an effort to make you feel comfortable at all times: warm and tasty food and beverages to stay strong and in good shape, very well knowledge of mountains and nature, very direct communication and, most importantly, enormous human quality. Thank you, guys. We will be back.
