Mayali Pass trek is a decently hard and ultra remote expedition traversing the Bhilangna catchment - a journey that allows mountaineers to try might at the Mayali pass hovering approximately 5300 meter above MSL. The trek offers an extraordinary experience of Indian Himalayas, with views of Garhwal Himalayan peaks seen from nowhere else. The majestic appearance of Mount Kedardome (6830 m) and Mount Thalay Sagar (6904 m) along the trek are sights to behold. Throughout the Mayali pass route, the trek route unfolds backpacker to the remote Indian villages of Reehi, Gangi, Kalyani negotiating the bear infested forests, the Bhilangna river valley (mapping its source), the crossing of the Khatling glacier itself, the Kedarnath temple, and much more. These will be your highlights in this amazing journey of magnets and miracles. The trek also gives you an opportunity to witness two holy lakes - Masar tal and Vasuki tal - both sacred to Hindus, besides Badoni Tal lake and quite a few other unnamed lakes in this very remote region of the Himalayas. Those looking for absolute peace of mind must consider Mayali Pass in their to-do list.
The legendary Mayali pass connects midway to Auden's Col trek near Chowki.
