Panpatia Col Expedition

Panpatia Col is a legendary trekking trail that connects the two Hindu shrines of Badrinath with Madhmaheshar and Kedarnath. It is a Hardcore high altitude trek where you encounter the Panpatia Glacier, Parvati Col, and negotiate 3-4 high altitude passes, which makes Panpatia Pass trek a lifetime achievement for any mountaineer.

Trail Background:
A legend in Garhwal Himalayas maintains that this difficult route was taken by saints and priests for thousands of years to get the shortest passage from Kedarnath temple to Badrinath shrine. Legendary mountaineers Shipton and Tillman decided to explore this route again in the modern era and gave us all a headstart. Today Panpatia glacier is the stuff of legends and possible to explore by reaching the Madhmaheshwar temple and going North-East head straight into Parvati Col first and there traversing the Panpatia glacial pass. It is a strenuous and very tricky walk across the icefield and crevasse. This expedition in the Himalayas is a challenge like no other.

To pursue the Panpatia Glacier expedition, the team must come well prepared with excellent physical fitness for high altitude survival. Honestly, Panpatia col is not a for the first-timers or even for those only a few treks under their belt. Besides physical potential, a trekking team must also rely on best-of-the-breed mountaineering equipment a crew of mountaineers with substantial backpacking experience.

We Bangalore lads thought it'll be just a trek with backpackers lurking all over. But hello... WE didn't meet or saw another human throughout our 4 days on the slopes. Mind boggling. This crew is amazing too.
