The Valley of Flowers National Park is located in Uttarakhand state, north India. The valley was found and named by famed mountaineer Frank S Smythe who discovered this valley by chance in 1931 while returning from Kamet peak climbing expedition. Today, this place lures hikers, nature lovers, and especially botanists looking to explore the world of flora and other secrets of nature. Over 600 species of flowers blossom in the valley in the monsoon season between June and Sept every year and hence have become a cherished trekking destination for people from all walks of life.
